Using the game of Go to go and make disciples of all nations.

Guiding passages

Matthew 28:18–20 (ESV) “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
1 Peter 2:4–5, 9 (ESV) “As you come to him, a living stone … you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood … But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
Matthew 13:18–23 (ESV) “Hear then the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

Vision

We are a community of living stones (1 Peter 2) going to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28), using the game of Go as a bridge for relationship, formation, and proclamation—so that people from every direction become part of God's people and proclaim his excellencies.

Mission

Go4Christ Fellowship obeys the Great Commission by making the game of Go our bridge: we go to Go clubs, campuses, cafes, and online spaces to play and build relationships; make disciples of those who respond; baptize new believers and connect them to this fellowship and to local churches; and teach obedience to Christ in gather-around-the-board fellowship and in partnership with congregations.

The four actions

  1. Go — To where people are: clubs, campuses, cafes, online, across cultures. We take the board and the gospel in every direction.
  2. Make disciples — Use Go to build relationships, create conversation, and invite people into following Jesus.
  3. Baptize — Welcome new believers through baptism and connect them to the fellowship and to local churches.
  4. Teach — Teach obedience to Christ in fellowship, around the Word, and in life together.

How we do it

  • Gather around the board — Regular meetups (in person and online) to play Go, build community, and share life and Scripture.
  • Build the fellowship — Worship, prayer, and encouragement as living stones in one spiritual house.
  • Partner with churches — Complement the local church by reaching people through the game and rooting them in a congregation.
  • Stay open to all nations — Welcome every language, culture, and place.
  • Play and compete internationally — With people from different countries and faiths.
  • Learn and train — In both Go and in evangelism and discipleship.

About the name

Go4Christ Fellowship — The “4” is not just “for.”

  • Go — The game of Go and the command to go (Great Commission). We use the board as a bridge for relationship and discipleship.
  • 4 — Four layered meanings:
    1. The 4 cardinal directions — North, South, East, West. We go everywhere; “all nations” has no geographic limit.
    2. The 4 corners of the world — We bring Christ to every corner of the earth (Rev. 7:1; Isa. 11:12). This also mirrors the 4 corners of the Go board — the most strategic positions in the game, where influence begins and spreads across the whole board.
    3. The 4 verbs of the Great CommissionGo, make disciples, baptize, teach. The “4” encodes the Commission’s four actions.
    4. The 4 soils in the Parable of the Sower (Matt. 13; Mark 4; Luke 8) — Jesus names four responses to the word: along the path, on rocky ground, among thorns, and on good soil. The “4” keeps us honest: we sow the gospel widely—in clubs, campuses, cafes, online—and we pray and disciple toward good soil, where the word is heard, understood, and bears fruit that lasts.
Our logo stylizes the 4 with Go stones into both the number and a cross.
  • Fellowship — The community of living stones (1 Peter 2): a spiritual house and priesthood together.
